Nutrition Services

Providing healthy, nutritious meals that enhance student learning is the nutrition service program's primary function.

Gov. Gretchen Whitmer approved Senate Bill 173, providing students who are enrolled for the 2023-24 school year, with one free breakfast meal and one free lunch meal per day. Student's will need to pay for any additional items outside of the meals included in this bill.

A qualified free meal consists of a main entrée plus a fruit or a veggie. Although milk is not a mandatory requirement, it is also included in a meal. Our cashiers are very helpful and trained to help students make their meal complete and free.

Some examples of lunch main entrée items include:

  • slice of pizza
  • burger
  • chicken sandwich
  • bosco sticks
  • chicken nuggets
  • salads
  • daily specials
  • subs (OMS and OHS only)
  • stir fry (OHS only)
  • wraps (OHS only)
  • fruit bowls (OHS only)

All school menus can be found on Nutrislice  including nutritional information. Pre-ordering for Oxford Middle School and Oxford High School is done through the Nutrislice app, as well. Pre-ordering food in the secondary buildings is helpful to reduce students wait time in line.

At Oxford High School, students are encouraged to pre-order stir fry, wraps, cold subs and salads to reduce time spent waiting in lines. OHS pre-order meals are picked up at the "Grab and Go" counter.

At Oxford Middle School, students are encouraged to pre-order cold subs and salads. OMS pre-order meals are picked up at the "Daily Special" cashier.

It is very important that families who qualify for free and reduced lunch for their student(s) based on their household income,  still fill out the free and reduced meal application. Filling out the application determines if a student qualifies for other offers such as discounted internet service, waived SAT test fees, and (if the state chooses to issue them again) P-EBT cards.

Any questions, contact the Director of Nutrition Services, Patty Silorey, [email protected], or by phone 248-969-5120.

Breakfast is served at all elementary schools and the high school before the school day begins in the cafeterias. Middle school students are served breakfast during morning advisory class.

Health and safety are our top priority.
Food allergies are taken very seriously and labels from every product are checked, kept on file and accessible on Nutrislice.  Additionally, the staff does not use latex gloves to protect those who have a latex allergy. Our lunch and breakfast menus always include options for the diabetic, as well.

Please note, due to national food shortages, menu items are subject to substitutions.
