Return to learn

As our state battles the coronavirus, we press on to safely fulfill our mission to provide an education that challenges all students to achieve their maximum potential. As the 2020-2021 school year evolves, we will update information here. Check out the Welcome Back video below from Superintendent Throne regarding our safety protocols.

Oxford Community Schools is offering two options for instruction:

Option 1:  In-person seated instruction in our district buildings five days a week (when Michigan is in phases 4-6 of the Michigan Safe Start Plan.) This option will have an online component within its curriculum and will abide by the health and safety guidelines provided by the governor, MDHHS, MDE, and the OCHD.  Further details can be found in our COVID Preparedness and Response Plan for Phases 4-6. In-person instruction option will have the possibility of moving to remote/distance learning from home when necessary and if the state should return to phases 1-3.

Option 2: 100% fully online school through our Oxford Virtual Academy. This option will remain consistently the same through all phases except the in-person Learning Labs will be closed should the state move back to phases 1-3.

Please see our District Communications for all of the information we have released as a district since the pandemic began in March.

Additionally, here are some online learning resources our staff have assembled for our students:

Covid-19 artThe safety of our students and staff is always our top priority and we recognize the seriousness of the Novel Coronavirus, COVID-19.

Simple everyday actions you can take to help prevent the transmission of illness. We want to remind families that the best ways to prevent the spread of COVID-19 are the same as preventing the cold and flu, and include:

• Wash your hands frequently with soap and water for 20 seconds

• Cover your mouth when you sneeze or cough with a tissue or sneeze into your arm

• Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth

• Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces using a regular household cleaning spray or wipe

• Avoid close contact with people who are sick

• Stay home when you are sick and keep kids home for at least 24 hours after illness
