March 4, OCS Announce Ken Weaver as Next Supt.

Dear Wildcat Nation,

Oxford Community Schools Board of Education is pleased to announce it has unanimously selected Ken Weaver as the next Superintendent of Oxford Community Schools at this evening’s March 4, 2022, Special Board of Education Meeting.

Mr. Weaver has been the Deputy Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction for Oxford Community Schools since August of 2014. He began his service to the staff and students of Oxford in 2003, initially as an Assistant Principal at Oxford High School for three years followed by eight years as the Principal of Oxford Middle School before advancing to his current role.

Upon notification of his selection, Mr. Weaver graciously said, "Thank you, I am overwhelmed with your trust. I am honored to have this sacred responsibility."

The selection of the Superintendent came at the end of a deliberate and thorough process that began in October of 2021 facilitated by John Silveri, Regional President of the Michigan Leadership Institute. The Board of Education initially interviewed five highly qualified candidates before narrowing its focus to two finalists and ultimately selecting Mr. Weaver. The Board is grateful for the active engagement of students, staff members, parents and community members throughout the process.

The Board of Education will immediately begin contract discussions with Mr. Weaver. Once an agreement is reached, Mr. Weaver will formally be appointed as Superintendent of Oxford Community Schools at the Special Board of Education meeting on March 14, 2022. It is anticipated that Mr. Weaver will begin his tenure as Superintendent of Oxford Community Schools on March 15, 2022.
