Dear Oxford Families,
It is with deep sadness we share with you that on October 9, 2021, our beloved Oxford bus driver Joyce Butterfield passed away at 79 years of age from complications due to COVID.
After retiring with Lake Orion Schools Transportation Department with nearly 30 years of service, she joined Oxford Community Schools in 2005. Joyce spent the last 16 years a part of our Oxford team. She dedicated her life to being the first smiling face children would see once they left home for their school day. She took great care in driving them safely to school and looked forward to being their last goodbye as they headed home.
Joyce recently lost her dear husband Bill in September to the virus as well. Please keep her family and loved ones in your thoughts and prayers through this most difficult time.
