Dear Oxford Schools’ Community,

This evening, we were made aware of an OK2Say tip reporting a concerning statement made at OES that included the mention of a weapon. The concerning statement referenced in the OK2Say tip was brought to the attention of school administrators today, during the school day.It was thoroughly reviewed and evaluated by our threat assessment team including a building administrator, the school resource officer, a mental health professional, and staff knowledgeable about the student. The Behavior Threat Assessment (BTAM) process determined that this incident did not pose a threat to students, staff, or our school community as there was no intent nor means to act on the statement.

While we cannot share further details with you due to the Federal Education Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), please know actions have been taken in line with our school code of conduct.

The safety and security of our students and staff is a top priority. We appreciate the quick reporting and continue to encourage our school community to continue to inform school administration and law enforcement of school safety concerns.
