Feb. 9, Fire Alarm at OHS

Dear Oxford Schools Community,

At 7:13 a.m. on Friday, Feb.9, 2024 the fire alarm at Oxford High School went off. Students and staff that were in OHS at the time calmly evacuated and followed our fire drill procedures. Students that ride the bus were kept on the buses.

The Oxford Fire Department came and cleared the school in accordance with their procedures. At 7:24 a.m. The Oxford Fired Department determined the alarm was caused by a faulty smoke detector, which has been resolved. Students and staff returned to the building at that time.

There was no emergency situation involved. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact me.

Sincerely,

Dr. Vickie L. Markavitch
Superintendent
