April 4, Superintendent Search Update

Dear Valued Oxford Schools Community,

As the Board of Education, we cannot thank each and every one of you enough for the time you have taken to watch the superintendent candidate interviews and participate in the “Day in the District” activities, along with your invaluable feedback through focus groups, surveys and candidate feedback reviews. At the candidate interviews this past Tuesday (04/02) we announced that we would be moving forward with district visits to each of our three candidate’s current districts. The purpose of these visits is to validate leadership style, to learn from staff and students about the candidates’ work, and to allow the candidates to show us achievements in action. We consider this an exceptional standard to ensure we identify the right candidate for our educational community. Dates for those visits have been set for Dr. Cormac Lynn on April 5th and for Dr. Tonya Milligan on April 12th. HYA, our search consultant firm, advised us today that Mr. David Raleigh has decided to withdraw from consideration for the role here at Oxford Community Schools. We thank Mr. Raleigh for his time and consideration.

The Board also announced at Tuesday’s meeting that we would hold a special meeting to vote for the next superintendent ahead of our April 23rd regular board meeting, it is anticipated that this meeting will occur the week of April 15th and a date will be confirmed next week and published in BoardBook.
